Each July, Newport plays host to an historic occasion as the International Tennis Hall of Fame inducts its latest class of all-time great players and contributors on July 12, with this year welcoming American legend Michael Chang into the Class of 2008. As if the International Tennis Hall of Fame isn’t historic enough, the induction is held in conjunction with the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championship, the last ATP men’s professional tennis event played on grass in North America. The event is scheduled for July 7-13 at the Newport Casino and features 32 of the world’s top ATP men’s tennis players competing for the ultimate prize - the Van Alden Cup - symbolic of the tournament singles champion. Moreover, the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum is the world's largest tennis museum which houses the world’s largest collection of tennis memorabilia. The Casino's historic courts are the world's oldest continuously used competition grass courts and the only competition grass courts open to the public for play.
